CEDAR CREEK SETTLEMENT’S HOLIDAY EVENTS

Five Festive Friday
Eves celebrates an exciting series of five, free, family-oriented, evening
events during the holiday season at Cedar Creek Settlement. The Settlement
features 25 unique shops; gift and specialty shops, antique stores, galleries,
three restaurants, artists studios
and the Cedar Creek Winery nestled in a restored 1864 woolen mill, festively
adorned for the holidays with luminarias, natural greenery, garlands,
beribboned wreaths and thousands of tiny white lights. Free Admission
to all events.
Friday, December 5...10 am -9 pm "Christmas In The Country"
is Wisconsin's premier, nationally recognized Christmas boutique, featuring
some of the finest Midwestern folk artists and Christmas artisans in a
juried show.
Peek into the Settlement
Shops, several merchants will have homemade cookies with recipes for you
to sample. ***The show/sale runs December 5-7. Admission: $3.00. Special
homemade cookie sampling & recipes from merchants. Winter cookout.

Friday, December 12...5-9 pm "Santa's Workshop". The
fourth in the 2008 series of free Festive Friday Eves holiday celebrations
at Cedar Creek Settlement is "Santa's Workshop" Friday, December
12, from 5-9 p.m. This free special event for children and families will
highlight a child's look at Christmas. Santa‚s Workshop is sponsored
by the merchants of The Shops of Cedar Creek Settlement.
Santa Claus will be expecting visits from children (and adults) in his
decorated holiday corner in the Cedar Creek Winery Cellar from 5:00-8:30
p.m. Letters and lists for Santa will be carefully read and treasured.
Parents are invited to bring their cameras.
The holiday songs of famed balladeer and children's entertainer David
H.B. Drake, in his Christmas Gnome finery, can be heard from 5:30-8:30
p.m. on the Settlement main floor landing where Bank Mutual will offer
complimentary hot chocolate.
Mom and Dad will love the shopping and children can participate in free
holiday workshops, including a Make & Take to paint Clay Bisque Holiday
Ornaments, Cookie Decorating and just-for-fun Temporary Tattoos. Parents
must accompany children under 10. At Jewelry Works, you can Mine Your
Own Grab Bag for $5.00 and find complimentary Face Painting. Enjoy sampling
dips, treats and cappuccino at Peddler‚s Corner.
The Settlement will also host an outdoor Winter Cookout featuring brats
($2.00) and hotdogs ($1.00) in the outdoor courtyard, alight with twinkling
white lights, greenery and luminarias. Visitors are also invited
to enjoy complimentary cider and cookies.
Cedar Creek Settlement shops, restaurants ˆ Anvil Pub & Grille,
Cream & Crepe and Tomaso‚s and Cedar Creek Winery are open daily
and welcome you with the old-fashioned good cheer of a Cedarburg Christmas.

Friday, December 19…5-9 pm "A Taste of Christmas". The
fifth and final event of Cedar Creek Settlement‚s Five Festive Friday
Eves Celebration begins Friday, December 19 from 5-9 p.m. with „A
TASTE OF CHRISTMAS‰.
The evening is designed as a romantic evening shopping getaway for grown-ups
who are searching for unique „knock-your-socks-off‰ last minute
gifts. There will be lots of live music throughout the evening, including
The Lakeshore Saxophone Quartet, in black-tie, from 5:30-8:30 and the
spirited group, NRG, a Milwaukee Showcase Chorus of Sweet Adelines, who
will be strolling throughout the shops from 5:30-8:30.
Grafton High School Chamber Singers will be dressed in Madrigal finery
as they sing holiday songs from 5:30-6:30 p.m. followed by the Cedarburg
High School Choral Singers singing carols from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
A Cooking-with Wine demo and tasting will be in Cedar Creek Winery, along
with complimentary Wine Sampling. Complimentary munchies will be provided
by shop owners, as well as the famous Outdoor Cookout. (Brats $2/ Hotdogs
$1). Bank Mutual will be on hand to serve complimentary hot chocolate.
***This year is a difficult financial time for many families. With that
in mind, the Cedarburg Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a non-perishable
food drive to benefit Family Sharing of Ozaukee County at the Settlement
shops on this evening. From 5-9 p.m., for every donated food item brought
in, the donor will receive an entry form that can be filled out and deposited
in various boxes for a chance to win one of several decorated prize baskets,
brimming with gift items donated by Settlement merchants.
